Situated in Eagle Heights on a glorious 3 acres of landscaped gardens with expansive views, his studio is an ideal place to join a talented craftsman for a hands on experience of working with clay.

An expression of rural living! The landscape art of “Louise Grove Wiechers” captures the spirit of the ideal pastoral experience by simplifying elements to their basics, leaving only the impression of the perceived version. Her “Red Barn Studio” is nestled amongst the beautiful rainforests of Tamborine Mountain overlooking the rich pastures of the Scenic Rim, making the perfect backdrop to Louise’s painting and print work.
Monique’s converted dairy shed studio is truly worth visiting! Monique Quarantini has been a potter and artist for over 30 years. She is inspired by poetry, the local wildlife, the mountain and its creative legacy, but is always searching for her own song lines. Her work reflects her skill in both ceramics and drawing, which she combines to create small and large scale pieces of extraordinary delicacy that are beautiful, functional, expressive and energetic.
Jacques van der Merwe
Artist – Painter – Sculptor! Jacques van der Merwe has been exploring the ‘human condition’ for the last few years, specialising in the personal relationship between man/animals and the physical conditioning. He makes artworks in a variety of mediums such as bronze, resin, ink on paper and oil on canvas, with sculpting being his preferred artform. His sculpture garden is well known and attracts many visitors every year.
Blue Bird Art Studio
Inspired by the surrounding rain forest! Brigitte Doering, resident artist at “Blue Bird Art Studio” : I am inspired by the surrounding rainforest, where my Blue Bird Art Studio is located, and draw insects on dried banana leaves, using ink and gold metal leaf. Discarded toys are transformed into sculptures through paper decoupage or lately made into winged insects, painted with shellac, instant coffee or pigments.
Functional wares in stoneware and porcelain! Potter Kyong-Hee Kim invites you to her studio. Her inspiration comes from traditional ceramics and nature. After settling on Tamborine Mountain, she built a studio using an earth bag building method. Her work features simple and traditional glazes and natural oxides. Recently she has been creating glazes with ash from Australian hardwood and working with the sculptural form of ikebana vases.

Mountain Dreams Gallery
Featuring the works of Maki Horanai and Hillel Weintraub! Maki is a committed artist, working with paint, ceramics and mixed media. Her work is immediately identifiable in imagery and colour and evokes a strong emotional response. Hillel creates poetry and mixed media, inspired by nature and by Maki’s work. The new “Mountain Dreams Gallery and Gifts” is open 7 days a week by appointment.
A working gallery and artist’s studio! Drawing and painting in transparent layered inks and watercolours has been a lifelong interest for Richard Roper as a way of expressing his interpretation of Australian stories, songs and scientific ideas. His art gallery and studio “Gallery Works” are open from 11am to 4pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Visitors are welcome to tour Richard’s studio and see his works in progress.
